Honest things to know

Mostly foreign income

Freelancers must earn at least 80% of income from non-Spanish clients.

Social Security

You register with Spanish Social Security; freelancers pay a monthly contribution.

A real tax advantage

The Beckham flat-tax regime (24%) can save a lot, but you elect it within six months and must not have been a Spanish tax resident in the previous five years.

You live there

More than 183 days a year makes you a Spanish tax resident.

Apply for the right visa

If you’ll work remotely, this is your route; the Non-Lucrative Visa does not allow work.

Covered by our money-back assurance. If your Digital Nomad Visa is refused, we refund the fees you paid us — apart from Spain’s initial registration fee.

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly

Who is the Digital Nomad Visa for?
Remote employees of non-Spanish companies and freelancers with international clients who want to live in Spain while continuing their work.
Can I work for a Spanish company?
The visa is for income from outside Spain. Freelancers may earn up to 20% from Spanish clients, but the core income must be foreign.
How much income do I need?
Around €2,760+/month (≈€34,188/year) for the main applicant, with extra amounts per family member (2026). We reconfirm the current figure for you.
How long is the permit?
A 1-year visa if you apply from your home country, or up to a 3-year permit if you apply from within Spain — renewable toward five years and long-term residency.
Do I need a university degree?
A degree or at least three years of relevant professional experience is accepted.
Can my family come with me?
Yes — your spouse and children, and in some cases dependent parents.
What about tax?
You can elect the "Beckham Law" flat-tax regime (24% up to €600k) within six months. Spending 183+ days a year makes you a tax resident; we connect you with proper tax advice.
If we have a child in Spain, can they become Spanish?
Children born in Spain to legal residents can access Spanish nationality after just one year of legal residence — a faster path than usual.
What if I’m refused?
Covered by our money-back assurance — your fees are refunded apart from Spain’s initial registration fee.
